Wow. You offer two powerful questions here for me to consider, especially on the specific journey I'm on now:
1. How am I missing Jesus?
2. How am I ignoring others on the journey who need Jesus?
Thank you.

Hey man, I think I'm a season or two ahead of you. 45. Congrats on seeing your anger. Welcome to manhood. Jung says it is time to start turning toward what is feminine in you. I know that sounds goofy but it really makes sense.

Here's the deal though. In my experience, if you could control it you would be. You're going to have to "deal" with the anger in some form or fashion. But hey, the journey is SO worth it.

I stumbled back upon this post again, and it really struck me: "There is a place where love climbs the hills of selfish intent." What a beautiful thought.

The danger is that we can end up "inoculating" folks with just a touch of dead Christianity and as a result many seem to end up "immune" to the call of Christ when they encounter it for real.

Great post!

Maybe this High Calling Blog thing will work! I came to your blog by that way.
My reasons for doubting are founded in my own black heart. I don't need to look any further than that....My hope is bolstered by God's helping me in my weakness to become more like Him....Peace!

I agree with Gordon. Just a few weeks ago, I sat in on a youth group lesson where the teacher talked about all of the reasons we can know that the Bible is true, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I understand what the youth leader was trying to do. Help the kids find confidence. But denying the possibility of doubt is no kind of confidence at all. It's just a lie.

Love the Tolkein quote! He's one of my heroes.

Hi there,

Nice work. We featured this on the High Calling website today. You're the first of our new bloggers to be featured. I so appreciate it when Christians talk about their doubts. It's so important to do so.
thanks!
